Leistritz Extrusion has announced details for two upcoming training workshops in 2023. In addition to Leistritz staff, outside speakers from industry and academia will also contribute. Classroom sessions are supplemented by interactive “hands-on” technical session.

Dates: November 8-9, 2023
Classroom sessions: HOLIDAY INN EXPRESS ARBORETUM AREA, Austin, TX
Hands-on sessions: The University of Texas at Austin – College of Pharmacy
The Leistritz Extrusion Life Science Extrusion Workshop will focus on pharmaceutical, nutraceutical and food applications. The program agenda is as follows:
Day 1 – Wed., Nov 8, 2023 @ Holiday Inn Express, Austin TX
- Co-rotating and counterrotating twin screw extrusion technology
- Continuous extrusion theory, tips and test results
- Feeders and material handling for pellets, powders and liquids
- Downstream systems
Day 2 – Thurs., Nov 9, 2023 @ University of TX/Austin laboratories
Cost: $800 prior to October 15th; $880 thereafter (includes handouts, lunches, & dinner on day 1)

Dates: November 29-30, 2023
Classroom sessions: Hyatt House Hotel, Branchburg, NJ
Hands-on sessions: Leistritz Branchburg, NJ Extrusion Process Laboratory
The Leistritz Extrusion Plastics Compounding Extrusion Workshop will focus on compounding, devolatilizations and reactive extrusion applications. The program agenda is as follows:
Day 1 – Wed., Nov 29, 2023 @Hyatt House Hotel
- Co-rotating and counterrotating twin screw extrusion technology
- Techniques for dispersive and/or distributive mixing (minimizations of heat/shear)
- Sequencing of multi-stage process operations
- Devolatilization process techniques and practices
- Pelletizing: strand cut, water ring, and underwater
- Direct extrusion for sheet, film, fibers and profiles
- Process troubleshooting
In addition to Leistritz staff, industry and academia will contribute to the program.
Day 2 – Thurs., Nov 30, 2023
“Hands-on” demonstrations at Leistritz process development laboratory, Branchburg, NJ
- Twin screw extrusion system with pelletizing and sheet/film downstream equipment
- How to design, stage, disassemble, clean, and reassemble screws
Cost: $800 prior to Nov. 1st; $880 thereafter (includes handouts, lunches, and dinner on day 1)
Space is limited and available on a first come basis.
