The recent first meeting of the exhibitors’ advisory board marked the start of the next K, The World’s No. 1 Trade Fair for Plastic & Rubber, to be held form October 19 – 26, 2022 at the fairgrounds in Düsseldorf, Germany. The exhibitors’ advisory board supports Messe Düsseldorf in its preparations for K 2022 and advises on fundamental conceptual and organizational issues. The focus is on the consideration of current developments, the global economy and the discussion of future-oriented trends and technologies.
The exhibitors’ advisory board of ‘K 2022 consists of representatives from the exhibiting industries and leading trade associations. It reflects the complete spectrum of ranges represented a K: mechanical and plant engineering, raw and auxiliary materials as well as semi-finished products, technical parts and reinforced plastic products.
Chairman for the exhibitors’ advisory board will again be Ulrich Reifenhäuser, Managing Partner of the mechanical engineering company Reifenhäuser and Chairman of VDMA’s Plastics and Rubber Machinery Association. The communications committee of K 2022 will be headed by Thorsten Kühmann, Managing Director of VDMA’s Plastics and Rubber Machinery Association.

K in Düsseldorf is the world’s most important meeting place for the plastics and rubber industry, bringing together exhibitors and trade visitors from all over the world every three years. It is renowned for its wide range of developments, solutions and trends to be experienced and discussed with experts in direct, international comparison. The diversity and internationality of the companies ensure that the industry’s current topics, such as digitization and the circular economy, are addressed as well as the special segments.
In 2022 the world’s leading suppliers of products and services from the plastics and rubber industries are again expected as exhibitors. The exhibitor applications will be sent out in early 2021.
Responsibilities at Messe Düsseldorf have changed in recent months, but the familiar faces of K in Düsseldorf remain: Erhard Wienkamp, acting as Division Director at Messe Düsseldorf since 2002, was appointed Managing Director of Operative Trade Fair Business at Messe Düsseldorf at the end of 2019. Petra Cullmann took up her new position as Division Director in July 2020 and is therefore part of the Messe Düsseldorf management board. The position of Project Director for the Plastics & Rubber portfolio has been taken over by Thomas Franken, who as a long-standing member of the K team is also very familiar with the industry.
