K 2019 to Feature Special Show and Science Campus

Key issues at  K 2019, The World’s No. 1 Trade Fair for Plastics and Rubber, will be recycling management, resource conservation and digitization, which will be addressed at the exhibitors’ stands and the special show “Plastics shape the Future” as well as the Science Campus. K 2019 will take place from October 16 – 23, 2019 in Düsseldorf, Germany.

“Plastics shape the Future” will illustrate how plastics can have a sustainable impact on the future, which developments have emerged today and which visions have the potential of becoming reality tomorrow. Focused on several topics, the seven-day event will offer expert discussions, speeches, presentations and exciting experiments. Economic and ecological aspects will also be addressed including problematic issues and approaches to solutions  discussed. The special show is a project of the German plastics industry under the auspices of PlasticsEurope Deutschland e.V. and Messe Düsseldorf.

The K 2019 Science Campus stands for dialogue between research and industry. Here exhibitors and visitors have the opportunity to gain a concentrated overview of scientific activities and results in the plastics and rubber sector and to exchange experiences between universities and companies.

The program of the Science Campus and “Plastics shape the Future” are carefully aligned. Both platforms will address topics that  will shape the global development of the polymer market in the coming years. Recruit new, young professionals for the industry, science and training will also be on the agenda. The participating universities, institutes, associations and funding organizations will prepare the main topics and present and discuss them in discussion groups, lectures and selected exhibits.

A total of 3,000 international exhibitors are expected to show their latest developments  to more than 200,000 visitors from all over world in the following categories: machinery and equipment for the plastics and rubber industry, raw materials and auxiliaries as well as semi-finished products, technical parts and reinforced plastics products. Show hours are from 10:00 am to 6:30 pm daily.
