Northeastern U.S. Largest Installed Two-Shot Molding Machine Base Will Drive Technology Strategy

HUDSON, MA – February 5, 2014 – ResTech Plastic Molding, Inc. (RPM) acquired Northeast Mold & Plastics (NEMP), a market leading injection molding manufacturer for the telecommunications, electronics, instrumentation, printing, automotive, water purification and medical components industries.

Northeast Mold & Plastics in Glastonbury, Connecticut will provide the ResTech Plastic Molding customer and vendor base with immediate access to industry-leading Two-Shot Molding ability to take a two-piece product design and re-design the components into a Two-Shot application while enabling NEMP’s existing customer base to take advantage of RPM’s broad capabilities spanning 4 companies. This includes the circuit and assembly division, Electro-Mechanical Technology that provides mechanical contract manufacturing services.

“NEMP will blend seamlessly with our current operations as we expand our technology strategy in the Northeastern United States and execute our national customer care program,” said George E. Danis, CEO of ResTech Plastic Molding. “Together, from design to market were putting our industry leading knowledge to work for our clients and vendors to help them achieve their product goals. With the rapid growth of new and existing markets and multi-national clients turning to the company to help them develop advanced plastic molding solutions, we’ve advanced technology and expanded service and capability.”

This acquisition follows RPM’s similar customer care acquisitions in the Northeastern U.S. market, including Tech Atlantic in Berlin, Connecticut in April 2012. RPM will be combining the Glastonbury operation with our plant in Berlin to form Northeast Mold and Plastics Division of ResTech Plastic Molding. The NEMP management team will remain unchanged and continue to be led by Ron Bodeau, NEMP’s General Manager.

“Today’s announcement reinforces RPM’s commitment to Governor Deval Patrick’s launch of the Massachusetts Advanced Collaborative (AMC) in November 2011 to create jobs and drive economic development,” Danis added. “We’ve launched a year-long 5 point strategic agenda to expand our customer care expertise, invest in R&D for advanced plastic molding solutions, improve access to technical assistance for vendors through integrated resources, internal workforce development and external education programs.”
