Mitsui Chemicals America, Inc. Receives APR Design® for Recyclability Recognition for ADMER™ RA105A Recycling Agent

Mitsui Chemicals America, Inc. is pleased to announce they have been formally recognized by the Association of Plastic Recyclers (APR) for meeting the highest criteria for recyclability according to the APR Design® Guide for Plastics Recyclability for ADMER™ RA105A Recycling Agent.

“APR congratulates Mitsui Chemicals America, Inc. for taking action to improve the recyclability of their

packaging and taking the steps to receive APR Design® Recognition,” said Steve Alexander, APR President & CEO. “Recyclable packaging means less waste, more efficient use of limited natural resources, and more high-quality post-consumer resin (PCR) for new products.”

ADMER™ RA105A is a newly developed compatibilizer for recycling of polyethylene based multi-layer packaging films. ADMER™ RA105A, when incorporated into resin formulations of Nylon/PE or EVOH/PE film structures, significantly enhances the miscibility between polar and non-polar resins during the mechanical recycling process.

This innovative additive not only improves the mechanical and optical properties of recycled films but also ensures process stability during extrusion with recycled content.

“We are extremely proud to have ADMER™ RA105A recognized by the APR,” said Johannes Roemer, General Manager of the Compounds Division from Mitsui Chemicals America, Inc. “This recognition underscores our commitment to sustainability and innovation in the recycling industry. ADMER™ RA105A is set to revolutionize the recycling industry by providing a more efficient and effective solution for producing high- quality recycled films.”

About APR Design® Recognition:

APR Design® for Recyclability Recognition provides third-party validation that a package or packaging component’s design is compatible with the North American recycling system. This process confirms the item has met the highest criteria for recyclability according to the APR Design® Guide. Complete packages and all components of package design are eligible for APR Recognition.

About APR:

The Association of Plastic Recyclers (APR) is an international non-profit and the only North American

organization focused exclusively on improving recycling for plastics. APR’s tools & resources help companies design packaging that can be recycled, support innovations that overcome existing recycling challenges, and encourage stable and reliable markets for post-consumer recycled content.
