Designed to compensate for height & level differences in direct vacuum cup mounting applications, the new GR03 Series suspensions deliver robust, long-lifetime performance in manufacturing automation industries, including: plastics, metals, glass, wood, & food
CARY, N.C. (December 14, 2016) — FIPA Inc., a leading manufacturer of advanced vacuum technology, gripper systems, air nippers, tube lifters, and End-of-Arm-Tooling (EOAT), has released a robust new series of non-rotating internal spring suspensions. Designed to compensate for height and level differences in direct vacuum cup mounting applications without the need for or expense of additional fittings, as well as to ensure the gentle placement of vacuum cups on workpieces, the new GR03 Series suspensions exhibit extreme resistance to dirt and damage to deliver long lifetime performance, and were expressly designed for diverse applications.
Made of lightweight, high-strength anodized aluminum, GR03 Series suspensions are thoroughly secured against rotation, and feature resilient, free-moving, smooth-running ball guides that absorb strong forces to achieve high load capacity; several different spring stroke limitations, which further contribute to a long service life; and rugged internal springs that are reliably sealed against contaminants, such as dust, making them ideal for use in a broad range of harsh manufacturing automation industries, including: plastics, metals, glass, wood, and even food. Available with either a smooth, clampable body or a male threaded body to facilitate flexible, easy integration into existing EOAT systems, the new suspensions also feature an internal air feed-through to expedite vacuum hose connections, and are compatible with an array of vacuum cup connections.
“Our new internal spring suspensions stand out from the competition due to their extremely robust and damage-resistant anodized aluminum housing and rod, which, in addition to enabling reliable, long-lifetime performance, also bear the added benefit of low weight,” said Rainer Mehrer, president of FIPA.
FIPA’s smooth-bodied, clamp-mounting GR03 Series non-rotating internal spring suspensions are available in three diameters (10, 14, and 20mm), six stroke lengths spanning 10 – 50mm, and weigh between 0.25oz and 2.82oz. Threaded GR03 Series spring suspensions are available in four diameters (M5, G1/8, G1/4, and G3/8), 10 stroke lengths spanning 10 – 80mm, and weigh between 0.39oz and 8.29oz.
